The 3rd Congressional District Republicans believes that:

All who have come to America have done so in pursuit of freedom—whether it be freedom of speech, freedom of education, freedom of religion, economic opportunity, or the freedom to provide a better future for their families. As one of the most diverse states in the Union, Minnesota is united by this fundamental principle: freedom is the bond that connects us all. It is this Common Thread that brings us all together.

1. Strong Family Values
  • Family is viewed as the foundation of society.
  • Emphasis on traditional marriage, parenting, and community-based moral teaching.
2. Faith and Moral Order
  • Religion and moral principles are considered important in guiding personal and public life.
3. Equality of Opportunity
  • Everyone, regardless of race, cultural heritage, gender, sexual orientation, religion or background should have the chance to succeed, but results should come from merit, not guaranteed by government redistribution.
4. Individual Responsibility & Hard Work
  • People are accountable for their own actions and should strive for self-reliance.
  • Success comes through effort, discipline, and personal responsibility rather than government dependency.
5. Education is the foundation for growth
  • A belief that access to quality education at all levels is essential for personal development, economic mobility, and a strong democracy.
  • Support for public investment in schools, affordable college, job training, and lifelong learning opportunities.
6. Patriotism & Security
  • Pride in Minnesota history and while honoring our diverse cultures.
  • A belief in strong security for our communities, resulting in safe schools, safe families, and a safe society.
7. Fiscal Responsibility
  • Support for balanced budgets, lower taxes, and reduced government spending.
  • Opposition to unnecessary debt and wasteful programs.
8. Freedom to Pursue Happiness
  • Every individual has the right to chart their own path in life, pursue their dreams, and seek fulfillment without undue interference from government.
  • A belief in personal liberty, responsibility, and the opportunity to succeed based on effort and choices.
